Facebook for Teachers and Students

This tutorial for Teachers is a 10 step guide to setting up a Facebook account. You would be suprised how many teachers don't know how to use Facebook...! The Student version is more of a CAUTION to students on what not to do on Facebook, although it is set up in simple steps like the teacher guide... My tutorials were created in power point so I have sent them to you via e-mail. Please comment on the blog if you desire...

  1. I was excited to learn that our middle school has set up a facebook page! With facebook blocked at school I will have to wait till I'm home to check it out :) Looks like I may have to consider putting together a "teacher" page so I can "friend" students without having them view all of my personal posts.

  2. "decline" friends? Doesn't it say ignore? I guess you have to choose something to put there as the opposite of accept. :/ Did you know that deciding to neither accept nor reject the 'friend' you are leaving them in "facebook purgatory". Another strange phrase I have learned.
I played in a basketball tournament where there was a bracket for the winners and the loser...
instead of consolation and championship brackets. It was the weirdest thing.

I really enjoyed the fun little comments on the bottom of the pages. I know there are some adults that have no clue about facebook. My aunt just joined and for the first two days she was sending me messages asking me how to do things.

DO you befriend your students. I've decided to not let my basketball ball girls be my friend until I'm don being their coach. I'm thinking about the limited access though because I can't always get them on the phone very easily.
